Sometimes the Lord gives me a specific Scripture to pray for a person or situation. This last week as Kristin and I were together, she brought up Isaiah 61 and how God wanted her to pray that for Cambodia. As I read it, I realized that it is so perfect. I continued on reading in Isaiah 62 and found a couple more verses that I am also praying for Cambodia.
Isaiah 62:2-4 The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow. You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God. No longer will they call you Deserted, or your name Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah and your land Beulah; for the Lord will take delight in you, and your land will be married.
Cambodia is a little country and has been ruled by other powers for much of its history. Yet it could be a place where God’s glory shines, and other surrounding nations can see God’s power and might in the lives of Cambodians. May God’s name be lifted high as a banner over Cambodia!
